Release Notes Firmware Update UEFI 26, ULPMC 25 For SHC-5000
Rugged Tablets Running the Windows 10 Pro Operating System

Updates and Resolved Issues Contained in the New Firmware

•	UEFI Version 26 - Changed I2C and SPI devices such that Windows Update or Device Manager won’t pull down a null driver for these devices. This has previously caused problems, most notably the touchscreen would stop working.
•	ULPMC Version 25 - Version 25 disables the optional internal battery if it is the older model that is no longer being serviced. The optional internal battery can instead be replaced at a certified repair center if desired. The 25.2 version added command line options to help with "silent" installation scripting and deployment using the following commands:
/s (or -s) Do not print characters to the CMD window.
/n (or -n) Do not reboot after copying files to UEFI partition (The update will actually complete the next time the unit reboots into UEFI. If scripting, use shutdown /r /fw).

Important Update Instructions

When you update the firmware, follow these instructions:
1. Plug external power into the SHC-5000.
2. Extract and copy the update exe files to the device.
3. Save and close any files or programs.
4. UEFI version 25 or higher must be installed first. To install, run the SHC5000_UEFI_Windows_64_v26.exe file.
5. When the process is complete, launch Device Info to check the BIOS Version BYT.5.04.42.0052-026 is now present.
6. As also shown in Device Info, the latest ULPMC version may already be installed. If not, run the ULPMC_Updater_v25.exe file.
